Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Arlington, VA, Ruffino's Spaghetti House serves up authentic Italian flavors packed with generous portions and a welcoming, neighborhood vibe. This charming Italian restaurant, also known for takeout and pizza delivery, has built a reputation for delivering comforting classics that satisfy both casual diners and devoted food lovers alike.

Stepping inside Ruffino's, you immediately sense the genuine warmth, not just from the friendly staff but also from the hearty dishes that come out of its bustling kitchen. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or settling down for a relaxed dinner, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and cozy, making it an inviting spot any time of day.

The lunch menu offers an enticing lineup ideal for a flavorful midday break without the fuss. Imagine biting into a Philly Cheesesteak Sub lunch, the savory beef packed with melted cheese and served alongside crisp golden fries and a refreshing soda. Or indulge in their Meatball Sub featuring 100% beef meatballs drenched in homemade marinara and melted mozzarella — each bite a warm, comforting hug. For pasta aficionados, the Chicken Rosé Pasta is a must-try, where tender penne noodles are enveloped in a luscious rosé sauce scattered with juicy chicken chunks, perfectly paired with garlic bread that’s delightfully crisp on the edges.

Ruffino’s submarines stand out with robust toppings that bring classic Italian flavors to life. The Italian Sausage sub bursts with grilled onions, peppers, and melting cheese, paired with that irresistible marinara sauce, delivering a symphony of tastes on a toasted sub roll. Meanwhile, the Chicken Parmigiana sub offers a mouthwatering combination of breaded chicken, rich marinara, and gooey cheese, creating a satisfying, layered indulgence.

For those in search of seafood, the menu elevates the experience with delicacies like Salmon Bainco — fresh pan-seared salmon and scallops bathed in a light brandy cream sauce served over linguine with sautéed vegetables. Or dive into the Seafood Marinara, where calamari, mussels, scallops, and shrimp swim in a vibrant marinara sauce layered over linguini, a dish that sings with ocean-fresh brightness.

The glowing testimonials from patrons further underscore Ruffino’s dedication to quality and hospitality. Jesse Mitchell reminisces about the “excellent” stuffed Marsala and stuffed mushrooms, complemented by a sweet cannoli finale, while remarking on the owner’s warm and inviting demeanor. For Jeremy Pierce, the cheese steak calzone was a revelation — generously portioned and bursting with flavor. Sandra’s praise of the consistently delicious food alongside a heartfelt note on the quiet dining atmosphere paints Ruffino’s as a hidden gem worth discovering, despite the tricky parking situation, which is easily managed by using the alley entrance.

One cannot overlook the versatility Ruffino’s offers — accommodating intimate dinners or larger gatherings with equal grace. Gary Connor’s review highlights an outstanding luncheon event for 30 guests, praising the owner’s flexibility and the fresh, hot buffet of house favorites like spaghetti, meatballs, and chicken parm, all served with warm garlic bread.

In essence, Ruffino’s Spaghetti House is more than just a place to eat — it’s a comfortable, authentic slice of Italy in Arlington where every dish resonates with passion, tradition, and heart. Whether you’re craving classic subs, soul-satisfying pasta, or fresh seafood specialties, Ruffino’s delivers with genuine flavor and inviting charm that keeps locals and visitors coming back time and time again.

I stopped by for a meal when I was in town. The stuffed Marsala was excellent as were the stuffed mushrooms. Finished it off with a cannoli. The owner was a great guy to talk to while waiting for my food to arrive. Very friendly. Would definitely go back next time I’m in the DC area. I took an Uber and couldn’t enter from Langston Blvd.. Parking and entrance are in the rear of the restaurant.

Just stopped in to have an early dinner. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere has changed. No pics on the walls. We were the only patrons in the dining room. No one else came in which was sad as this place is a wonderful gem. Food has always been delicious. Parking is tricky. But there are spaces in the alley behind with an entrance to the restaurant. Never disappointed!

Oustanding Food and Service. We held a luncheon for 30 people at Ruffinos and it was an outstanding event. The owner was very flexible and helpful planning the event and offered tasting plates of the selected food items. The venue was the perfect size and could have easily handled 40-45. The food (spaghetti, meatballs, chicken parm, salad, garlic bread) was fresh and hot served buffet style. The marinara sauce was perfection. Service was prompt and friendly. And the fresh cannoli were great. The most frequently heard comments were, "The food was great" , "We have to come back and check out the regular menu" and "How did you find this place".

Ruffino's is an Arlington mainstay. And many are the dinners my wife and I have enjoyed there. Memorable are mussels (ask for red sauce), the soups (particularly the minestrone ) are tasty, the chicken parm is as good as you will find. The decor is basic. The drinks are tall. With just a dash of background music, the establishment is quiet enough that you can easily converse. Service is attentive and friendly. Prices are on the low side for drinks and food.

Food was great. We tried the tuscany soup, cheesy garlic bread, spaghetti, and vodka sauce. I would definitley come back again to try more. We almost didn't get the bread because of the bad reviews, but good thing we did. It was buttery, crispy and cheesy...as it should be. The vodka sauce was flavorful! I agree it could have been creamier but flavor wise it was on point. Every thing else was spot on and I would order again.

We're in town celebrating my daughters birthday and she loves Italian. Thankfully I found this when searching for Italian spots. My 6 y/o and 8 y/o gave this spot a 5 out of 5. So did the grown ups! If you are having a difficult time deciding where to eat, don't hesitate and come here! All our dinners were delicious and a BIG portion
